Primary Science · P3 to P6
A small cohort. A dedicated tutor. And the same obsession with doing things properly that defines everything we build at Genius Plus.
A note on this programme
Math is our specialisation. But when families at our Punggol and Pasir Ris branches asked about Science, Ms Arina — who genuinely loves the subject — stepped up.
We built a proper curriculum anyway. In-house textbooks. Structured lesson plans. The same rigour we apply to everything else.
"If we're going to offer something, we want it done right — even if the class only has six students."

Ms Arina teaches Science the way it was meant to be taught — by making students think, not memorise. Her lessons are known for being intellectually alive, practically grounded, and genuinely enjoyable.
"So what do you notice from the graph? If there's no oxygen produced — what does that tell us? Right. Now we can eliminate."
Teaching approach
Ms Arina teaches students to reason through problems — not recall them. Every lesson trains the habit of analysing, comparing, and eliminating before arriving at an answer.
Exam precision
She explicitly trains students in scientific language — how to phrase answers to score in open-ended questions. Not just understanding, but the precise words examiners are looking for.
Methodology
Six consistent traits that parents and students notice in Ms Arina's lessons — drawn from direct observation of how she teaches.
Students are constantly asked: "Does this make sense logically?" and "Can we eliminate?" They learn to think through problems rather than search their memory for an answer.
She asks students to picture what's physically happening — a spring compressing, light reflecting into an eye, a shadow changing size. Concepts become intuitive, not abstract.
She calls on students by name, gives thinking time, and expects participation. Nobody sits passively. This is a class where you're expected — and helped — to think out loud.
She models exact exam phrasing repeatedly: "A force can move a stationary object." "Light is reflected from the object into the eye." Students don't just understand — they learn to express it correctly.
She links topics across chapters — friction to lubrication, oxygen to photosynthesis, height to potential energy. Students see science as a connected system, not isolated facts.
When students struggle, she guides them patiently toward the reasoning process rather than the answer. Confidence grows alongside understanding — both matter in an exam.
What We Cover
We cover all six primary science themes, taught in sequence across P3 to P6. Each level has its own in-house textbook — designed to prepare students for how PSLE Science is actually examined.
Living and non-living things, characteristics of organisms, and classification.
Life cycles in plants and animals, the water cycle, and matter cycles in the environment.
The human body, plant systems, electrical systems and how components work together.
Forms of energy, energy conversion, light, heat, and electricity.
Forces, magnets, food webs, adaptation, and the relationship between organisms and environment.
Proprietary in-house textbooks
Every student receives a freshly printed, full-colour textbook designed specifically for our curriculum — not a resale workbook. The time and cost of producing these materials far exceeds what the cohort size would justify. We built them because it's the right way to teach.
Programme Details
Available at two branches only:
Maximum 8 students per class. Small enough for every student to be known, challenged, and supported individually.
P3 through P6. Each level follows its own term-by-term syllabus, culminating in full PSLE Science preparation in P6.
Private lessons with Ms Arina are available for students who want focused, individualised attention. Ask admin for rates and availability.

Class sizes are small — slots fill up by term. WhatsApp our admin team to ask about the schedule at your preferred branch.
Our Commitment
Science was never part of the original plan. Genius Plus was built for Math. But when the families we serve needed Science — and Ms Arina wanted to teach it — we decided to build it properly rather than not at all.
In-house lesson plans and textbooks developed specifically for our students — built to complement the MOE syllabus and support how it is examined.
Ms Arina teaches every Science class herself. There is no rotation of part-time tutors. You always know who is in the room with your child.
Available at Punggol and Pasir Ris because that is where the demand came from. We are not trying to scale this city-wide — we are trying to serve the families who trust us, well.
